If you have room for only one cabinet then our complete arcade machine is perfect for you.
It is the generic cabinet with a 2 players and 6 buttons layout that can play most of the arcade games.
But playing driving games with a joystick is not fun and most of the time just not a viable option.
A few years ago I build from scratch a custom driving arcade cabinet using original Atari's Pole Position parts. Although I choose Pole Position artwork for the marquee and side art, the cabinet I designed was not true to the original shape. I intended to design an alternate "cabaret" style cabinet.
To play the games I installed a PC with a special version of MAME that enable the use of a real arcade shifter. Controls consist of an original Pole Position (cockpit) control panel with an original pedal that I bought on Ebay.
This arcade can play multiple driving games that require a 360 wheel like Pole Position, Super Sprint, Off Road, Turbo, Stocker and many more. Even a game like Out Run is playable.
There's currently no commercial offering for a game room Driving arcade machine. So we decided to work on a special cabinet that will be heavily inspired by the Pole Position upright version. We are currently in the design phase. Here's a glimpse of what it might look like. I will post more information on the specs in the following weeks.
